Privacy Policy

ShareTh.is collects minimal data to operate the service.

What We Collect

For free uploads, we collect no personal information. Files are stored temporarily and deleted after 24 hours.

For paid links, we collect your email address provided during Stripe checkout or Google sign-in. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your Google account identifier to link your session. We do not access your Google contacts, files, or any other account data. IP addresses are temporarily stored in memory for rate limiting and are not persisted to any database.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, expiration dates, or security codes. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.

Email Communications

Transactional emails (payment confirmations, magic sign-in links, and shared file notifications) are sent through SendGrid. We send emails only in response to your actions. We do not send marketing emails or share your email address with third parties.

Data Retention

Free files are deleted from storage after 24 hours. Paid files are stored until you delete them. When a file is deleted (by you or by expiry), the file is permanently removed from storage. Basic metadata (filename, file size, upload date, download count) may be retained for internal analytics.

Email addresses for paid users are retained as long as you have an account. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie for authenticated users managing paid links. This cookie is HTTP-only and cannot be accessed by third-party scripts. We also use an admin cookie for internal use only. No tracking, advertising, or third-party cookies are used.

Third-Party Services

We use Stripe for payments, SendGrid for email delivery, Google OAuth for optional sign-in, and Cloudflare for file storage. Each service has its own privacy policy governing data they process on our behalf. We do not sell or share your personal data with any other third parties.
